A new Article 27a has been added, setting out obligations for a CSD to notify its competent authority of management changes and for persons proposing to acquire or dispose of qualifying holdings in a CSD to notify the competent authority, along with procedures and timelines for the competent authority's assessment of such notifications.
The article also addresses information requests during the assessment period, possible suspension and extension of that period, the consequences of opposition or non-opposition to a proposed acquisition, and a limit on Member States imposing stricter notification or approval requirements than those set out in the Regulation.
