The entry for Titanium dioxide (reference number 143) adds a new line stating that titanium dioxide in powder form containing 1% or more of particles with aerodynamic diameter of 10 micrometres or less is to be used in compliance with Annex III, No 321.

The introductory UV-filter cross-reference wording is also tightened, changing "For use as a UV-Filter, see Annex VI, No. 27." to "For use as a UV filter, see Annex VI, No 27" with punctuation and capitalization altered but the cross-reference itself unchanged.

A new preamble line was added referring to Annex VI, No 30 and No 30a for use as a UV-filter, alongside the existing reference to Annex VI, No 27.

Entry 144, Zinc oxide, now includes a CAS number and EC number and a new restriction stating it is not to be used in applications that may lead to exposure of the end-user's lungs by inhalation, where before it listed only the colour index number and colour with no such conditions.

Entry 126 for Carbon black (CI 77266) now lists additional CAS and EC numbers and adds detailed purity and impurity limits covering ash content, total sulphur, total PAH, benzo(a)pyrene, dibenz(a,h)anthracene, arsenic, lead and mercury, replacing the earlier entry that only carried a single EC number and a general purity-criteria reference.

A new entry 126a is added for Carbon black (nano), giving the same CAS/EC identifiers, a Black colour designation, a 10 % maximum concentration, a restriction against use where it could expose the end user's lungs by inhalation, and conditions requiring specific purity and a minimum primary particle size of 20 nm for the nanomaterial.

All other entries and the preamble text of the list remain the same between the two versions shown.
